Our Early Childhood Development Curriculum
Here at the Small Miracles family of preschools and daycare centers we believe in the importance of a positive environment and stimulating curriculum fostering children’s creative and intellectual abilities appropriate for their developmental stage. Our early childhood educators are committed to putting one simple but profoundly impactful idea into practice-and it’s that preschool age children thrive best in environments that value their uniqueness, that provide each and every child with support and ample opportunities to grow emotionally, socially, cognitively, physically, linguistically, and creatively. Our goal as educators is to foster self-esteem and independence by setting the stage for future learning through a positive first experience at school. Social development is emphasized through play and interaction with children of the same age. Early learning should be fun and focus on hands-on experiences.
We’re committed to offering Arizona’s children and families the highest quality early childhood education available anywhere in our state; and as a result, frequently update our ECD curriculum with programs drawn from the latest innovative thinking on early childhood development and education. For instance, Small Miracles schools have offered bilingual preschool programs, giving children in Tempe, Tucson and Phoenix an opportunity to learn French through immersion in French culture. From foreign languages to physical, emotional, social and intellectual development, Small Miracles believes in offering an advanced developmental curriculum to Arizona’s infants and preschool aged children.
Our Holistic Approach to Early Childhood Development
By building on your child’s innate curiosity, interests, strengths and desire to learn, our ECD curriculum guides and encourage each child to explore, to develop good learning habits and the close, secure, relationships that facilitate them. Through our developmentally appropriate curriculum, our educators are committed to engaging children in active and meaningful learning to achieve the following goals:
- Encouraging Arizona’s children to think, reason, question, and experiment
- Fostering respect for Arizona’s cultural diversity
- Developing social skills and knowledge
- Enhancing physical development and skills
- Promoting early childhood language and literacy development
- Encouraging creative expression and an appreciation for the arts
- Fostering positive self-identity and a sense of emotional well-being
- Demonstrating and encouraging sound health, nutrition and childhood safety
Our early childhood development curriculum is balanced and focused on preparing Arizona’schildren for their first year in elementary education. The preschool age children in our care are introduced to age appropriate math and reading skills, children’s literature, music, art, natural sciences, group interaction, language acquisition, all in addition to fine and gross motor stimulation. Ours is an early childhood curriculum that’s both fully aligned with and exceeds the Arizona learning standards, developed by Arizona’s State Board of Education.
